Once upon a … sketch.

I’ve been following the once upon a sketch blog for a while now … I think it’s a combination of both a sketch and the journalling requirement that makes it seem like such a good idea. Of course good ideas need time to play and more often than not the month goes by without me even getting started on good ideas.

But this month, the sketch kept popping up, it’s a good one and I kept thinking about it …

So on Saturday I pulled out some papers and an old photo of some cute kids and had a play …

Some of my favourite things on there … texture paste/gesso through a brick mask, muslin, lace, resin flowers and paper flowers, pearls, resist canvas and glimmermist … all the good stuff right?

And the journalling … it had to be based on this quote …

… I borrowed an idea from Gabrielle Pollacco … and made a tag to slide in behind the zip …

It talks about how much these kids have changed in 8 years … not so cute and little any more, much more big and smelly … but when I focus on what’s important it’s still spending time with them.
