Stars in their Eyes – Week 2

This week it’s all about Missy Whidden.

On my list of style must haves … glimmermist/paint, brightish colours, fun topics/photos, stitching/embroidery thread, banners, buttons, distressed edges, the date written in month and year and she tends to use a sketch to get things started.

So … I followed a link on her blog to Sketch Savvy and picked out a sketch…

It turns out Missy has since used this sketch herself … it must have been a good choice then!

I dragged out some older photos which I thought would be suitable for the brighter colours I wanted to use. And I found a blue glimmermist to use in the background … going for the blue sky look I had going on in the photos. I just punched out some circles to use as a mask because my masks didn’t seem to suit the Missy style I was after. A little distressing, layering, stitching, a button or two later and I was done.

I discovered that Missy has lots of really neat details in her layouts … it pays to study the close ups too. It will be interesting to see who’s up next!
