Continuing the French Theme

My lovely friend Janine is a fantastic enabler … or perhaps my love of all things French has made me particularly susceptible to her cunning ideas.

When she announced the idea of having a Marie Antoinette themed party I couldn’t help but get a little excited about the possibilities.

At the time I had an altered book class to prepare so I combined some ideas, borrowed Janine’s Marie Antoinette stamps and had a play … thus became her birthday gift from me …ย  there are more pics on her blog.

I was also lucky enough to be allowed ‘decorating’ privileges ofย  the party room and desert table …

And was set a challenge to create some French Macaron trees … these ones are mocha flavoured …

and these … strawberry and cream …

Check out that stunning cake our friend Sarah made … absolutely amazing … and so very yummy!

And a quick shot of my dangly sparkly crystal thingys hanging from the center of the room … these actually have grander ‘chandelier’ type aspirations … another idea working it’s way out of my mind … hopefully you’ll see how that works out later in the year.
