The Wellington Wedding Show

So this is what has been keeping me quiet and out of trouble for the last little while.

Designing/creating the Craft House booth for DIY Stationery at the Wedding Show.

The whole concept all stemmed from a photo I found on the net somewhere of a paper wedding dress. I really wish I could find the link for it again but anyway thus began my search of second hand shops for a ‘body’ … and I became obsessed with the idea of making my own paper wedding dress.

So here she is … Henrietta in her wedding dress.

Paper roses and vintage pearls, cuttle bug embossed edges and ribbon lacing … you truly can do ‘anything’ with paper (and a few glue dots!)

So during my trek of second hand shops in search of Henrietta I also picked up old frames and along with a few bought from the $2 shop these became our wall display … all I had to do was paint and distress them all and add stationery samples.

We also made a complete matching set of stationery to show how the design can be brought through from the invite to the order of service and table bits and pieces and even a ‘do not disturb’ door hanger.

We had ‘I’m the Bride’ badges to give out …

and the flower lamp was there too

I thought it made this frame look kinda cool with the light shining at just the right angle.

The real live doves we had in the corner also attracted a fair bit of attention.

With lots of people interested in having Divine Doves at their wedding ceremony.

Yeah … so … I’ve had lots of fun lately!

And after a day of constant crowds like this … I’m kinda tired now!

Despite having a kid in hospital I have been making a few a night – quite relaxing. I’ve got about 80 roses so far. Looking forward to the gluegunning bit!)
Thanks so much for the inspiration.

  14. […] mostly white and cream … it had to fit in with the black and white theme we had going on at the last wedding show but still be a step towards adding a little […]

  15. […] it’s Wedding Show time of year again … last year it was all about Henrietta and her dress … this year … it’s all about the dessert […]
