Christmas ’08

First there was breakfast … which looked something like this:

Well, actually, before breakfast there was Santa presents while the adults drank good strong coffee.

Then there were more presents.

Alexander got this:

Rebekah got one of these:

And Jessi got her flying barbie horse.

Michael got a worm farm.

Maybe not quite the sort he’d asked for but I didn’t fancy the idea of wrapping up real worms and leaving them under the Christmas tree!

And I got one of these:

Yep … I’m only a year behind all the cool kids!

Then, as I was cutting the meat for our lunch … our day turned to custard in the best way. I looked out the window to see this visitor:

That would be my brother who has been in England for the last two years. So the perfectly set table kinda got left half done, the meal was cold by the time we ate but it didn’t matter. It was a nice surprise to see them … especially little Grace.

She’s so cute with a little English accent and wanting to play with her cousins.

I had to wait till boxing day to meet baby Liam.

He’s super cute and cuddly.

The last few days have been fun getting to know them again while trying not to tell Mum and Dad … they were planning to surprise them on New Years day but they ended up telling them this morning … too many close calls like Rebekah telling Grandma she was going to the movies with aunty … um … I mean …

So that was our Christmas … a little different than planned, but all totally good.
